Hell yeah! Get that thing on the track asap...

Oh and since you can't use the slr lollipops, if you wanted to give them to me I'll put them to use for you.  ;)

Well I have been neglecting this thread pretty bad. Probably a case of just working and not stopping to take a lot of pictures.

Well here is where we are sitting right now:

Only a couple things left before I should be ready to shake her down:
-Finish the exhaust manifold
-rear brake lines
-fuel lines
-wiring
-plumb the radiator

I'm sure there is more that will come up.

General Discussion / Re: what would you like to see in an event?

I'm really competitive, so i like the idea of any sort of competition for drifting. Could do little small things for grassroots guys that are just starting out, and cant tandem. This stuff keeps people motivated.

Could be things like:

Best entry
Best looking
Most improved
Best run

Could even break it down into the run groups.

Prizes could be anything from a gift card for gas or tires, or even $xx.xx off your next event registration.

****, even t-shirts..

Stuff like that keeps people engaged, and motivated to progress.

Just some thoughts.

Yep. I agree with this as well...

Well, my cars shouldn't leak and that sounds pretty dope! So one car on track at a time?
Can the infield be used or just the oval?
This sounds like a pretty neat way to spend thursday night! :D

What's the turnout like usually?

For the most part we run one at a time. I haven't seen them do tandem up there but the let Brian chase Robert with the camera last year. The infield is fair game. The turn out isn't always huge, sometimes there are 10 of us, other times you're the only drifter there. Last year we tried to plan on the 3rd Thursday of the month to get a big group. But there is almost always 1 or 2 ppl there.

Mind - blown!
I have raced auto city for years (firebirds autoxs). Never knew there were drift nights...

How foes that work? Rules, layout etc?
Info please! I'll hit these up soon i am sure!!!

It isn't really drift night, it's weekly test n tune for everyone. We share the track with all the roundy round racers. The only rule is basically don't take a car out that is in worse shape than some of the demo cars that will be up there, don't leak all over the track and wear a helmet. You basically line up and wait your turn. Once it's your turn you can run the track anyway you want until either you decide to stop or they flag that time is up. You can go out as many times as you have time for between 4 and 8pm...

Test n Tune at Auto City Speedway is every Thursday. It starts back up for the year on April 9th. It's only $10.

Yeah you guys are dreaming of cars that are do-able. Lol. When I think dream I think something that there is no way in h3ll that it could ever happen...
For me it's these are at the top of my list.

The block is back from the machine shop. So I threw some paint on it.

Then I cleaned up and painted the front end components.

Here is the angle for now. I want to add rack spacers to squeeze a bit more out of it.

Next up I have to steal the brake system and transmission from my e28 so I can get this thing assembled...

What have you come up with for the jam nuts on the tie-rods?
I'm just going to cut the outers down and get rid of the taper lock setup. It'll basically be like the older style where you just tighten the outer and the lock nut to each other...

Ok so quick update. I signed up for No Star Bash so its time to get my a$$ in gear. The motor is out and the block made it to the machine shop on Monday. Gonna lap the valves while it's gone so the head is ready to go back on when it gets back. The basic list to have it ready to slide is:
- Put the engine back together
- All the plumbing
- Most of the electrical
- Finish the turbo kit
- Finalize the suspension
- Piece together a fuel system
- Test n Tune

There is some other crap too but this is the bulk of it. Yeah I'm gonna be cutting it close...

Oh and since every update should have pictures here is how the steering angle looks with Mikes adapters:

Ya I have, East Coast Bash back in '10 & '12 were awesome. For me US Air is just as far.

What about using the ferry in Ludington?
With a car trailer you may save a bit of time but it cost like $120 each way for the ferry. It is nice that you don't have to drive for a good amount of time though...
